This fall, the Center on Global Brand Leadership will be hosting three BRITE events as part of the Center's global series of conferences on branding, innovation, and technology:

BRITE CMO Summit: Taking place on October 15, 2008 at Columbia University in New York, this event is exclusively for senior marketers. The focus of the CMO Summit will be on challenges and solutions for innovation and brand building in organizations today. Full agenda here.

BRITE Workshop on Online Communities: Taking place October 16th, 2008 at Columbia University in New York, the Workshop on Online Communities will provide hands-on instruction on using online communities and social networks to drive growth and achieve key business objectives.  Full agenda here.

BRITE-Asia '08: Hosted in collaboration with our partner Center at Singapore Management University, BRITE-Asia '08 is taking place on November 7, 2008 in Singapore.  This event will bring together big thinkers to discuss how digital media and technology are transforming branding in the Asian marketplace. Schmitt Spends Summer Promoting Big Thinking Across The Globe

Traveling across Europe and Asia, with stops in Singapore, Japan, India, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Istanbul, and Kolkata, Center on Global Brand Leadership's Faculty Director Bernd Schmitt (SCHMITT) spent this summer speaking on Big Thinking and teaching a new Master Class on market innovation. Some highlights of Schmitt's world travels include being a keynote speaker at the Brand Conclave 2008 in Kolkata, teaching at Yonsei University, a long-time partner of the center, and auctioning off the Schmitt Shanghai Trojan Horse at a conference in Munich. David Rogers Inspires Futures at ESADE Brand Conference

This past May, Center on Global Brand Leadership Executive Director David Rogers was among several national and international experts in the fields of branding, innovation, and technology to speak at Brand Challenges 2008: Inspiring Futures. This annual conference, hosted by our partner Center at the ESADE Business School in Barcelona, focused on major challenges facing brands today. David Rogers presented cases on how technology and innovation are transforming the way to build and sustain strong brand. New Executive Director at the Center On Global Brand Leadership

 We are pleased to announce that on July 1, David Rogers was promoted to Executive Director of the Center on Global Brand Leadership. David has done an outstanding job as Director of the Center over the last two years, developing new conference initiatives (BRITE and India Branding), managing global partnerships with our Center network, and advising executives at our sponsor companies on their strategic branding issues.

As Executive Director of the Center, David will be responsible for developing a multi-year conference agenda to maintain the Center's position in the development of innovative branding practice; presenting our work to the media and at conferences worldwide; continuing to author and edit books, articles, blogs, and case studies; guest lecturing and developing curriculum in Exec Ed, EMBA, and MBA classes; and building new relationships with leading brands and brand practitioners.

In an interview with Noel Capon, R.C. Kopf Professor of International Marketing at Columbia's Business School, Schmitt discusses the major changes in branding, including consumer generated media, internal branding, and brand valuations.
