Richard Cacciato Richard Cacciato co-founded New York interactive agency Blue Iceberg in 1999. As Chief Strategist, he helps Blue Iceberg create digital marketing solutions which engage consumers with highly relevant experiences that drive business results. Richard has always seen digital as an integrated part of the marketing mix and brings a pragmatic, business-focused approach based on his real-world P&L experience. He has worked on digital projects that range from the US Department of Energy’s online communications strategy to specialty CPG brands like Kozy Shack, America’s number one rice pudding.

Richard began his career with Procter & Gamble, where he was responsible for financial control of six major brands for P&G Italy and led the European rollout of the Camay Bath and Shower Foam line. After moving to New York he joined Bristol-Myers Squibb in Strategic Planning and Licensing and Acquisitions, then in Brand Management on Excedrin. Subsequently Richard was VP of Marketing and Sales for Yates Furniture Systems, a national manufacturer of contract office furniture, and led the development of their award-winning website in 1996.

Richard received a BA from Yale and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He is past Chairman of the New York chapter of the Procter & Gamble Alumni Association and lives in Manhattan with his wife and business partner Natalie Yates and their son Alexander.

Dave Carroll Dave Carroll is an internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter who has delighted fans for over two decades in the music business with his clear, warm and intimate approach to music. A master storyteller, Dave’s unique and insightful songs are injected with a 'coming home' sense of familiarity and his rich, unforced vocals have resonated with audiences around the world. Most recently, Dave’s incredible talent has become known to thousands of new fans through his United Breaks Guitars fame and his career as an entertainer and songwriter have rapidly gained momentum. The impact of his music protest video has been so tremendous that it has even opened new doors for him as a sought after public speaker and has earned him the title of modern day folk hero. Said to be 'one of the nicest guys in the business,' Dave Carroll is one of Atlantic Canada’s brightest shining stars.

With the release of United Breaks Guitars, a music protest video about his poor experience with United Airlines (in the summer of 2009), Dave Carroll took the Internet by storm, becoming one of YouTube's greatest hits and causing an instant media frenzy across all major global networks and sources (including the likes of CNN, the LA Times, Chicago Tribune, Rolling Stone Magazine & the BBC to name a few).

What has all of this meant for Dave? New opportunities beyond those of the traditional music industry are arising every day. Dave and his 'United Breaks Guitars experience' are currently being written about in college and university case studies around the world regarding the impacts of social media; such a case study is due to be published by the Harvard School of Business in 2010. In October, Dave was called upon to be the opening keynote speaker at the Right Now Technologies 2009 North American Summit in Colorado.

Robin Chase Robin Chase leads Meadow Networks, a consulting firm that advises city, state, and federal government agencies about wireless applications in the transportation sector, and impacts on innovation and economic development. Robin is also founder and former CEO of  GoLoco, an online ridesharing community, and Zipcar, the largest carsharing company in the world.

She is on the US Department of Transportation Intelligent Transportation Systems Advisory Committee, the Board of the World Resources Institute, as well as the World Economic Forum Transportation Council. She also served on the Massachusetts Governor's Transportation Transition Working Group, and Boston Mayor’s Wireless Task Force.

Robin lectures widely, has been frequently featured in the major media, and has received many awards in the areas of innovation, design, and environment, including Time 100 Most Influential People, Fast Company Fast 50 Innovators, and BusinessWeek Top 10 Designers. Robin graduated from Wellesley College and MIT's Sloan School of Management, and was a Harvard University Loeb Fellow.

Shay David Shay David, Co-founder & VP Business and Community Development, Kaltura, is a scholar and serial entrepreneur who specializes in collaborative and open-source information and communication systems. Shay is the co-founder of Kalutra, a pioneer in collaborative media, where he oversees technology and strategy. Kaltura has developed the world's first open source video solution stack, and is empowering the next generation of publishers, like Wikipedia and PBS, with collaborative rich media functionalities. Prior to Kaltura, Shay was a co-founder of Destinator Technologies, a leader in mobile-GPS-navigation software, and MindEcho, a collaborative filtering software company. Shay was involved for many years in cutting edge software research, combining open source and proprietary software.   He led various product development cycles from concept to market and consulted on open systems to Fortune 500 companies like Toyota and Becton Dickson.
 
Shay holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and a B.A. in Philosophy, Magna Cum Laude, from Tel-Aviv University, and an M.A. from New York University. Shay wrote his PhD dissertation on ‘The social construction of participatory information networks’ at Cornell and he is also a fellow at The Information Society Project at the Yale Law School. Shay has published extensively in leading academic journals, and has presented his work all over the world. He lives in New York City with his wife Ofri, an artist who works on large-scale video art projects.

Aliza Freud Aliza Freud, Founder and CEO, SheSpeaks, Inc. Ms. Freud is a recognized expert on marketing and women’s insights, and her company SheSpeaks creates and operates consumer communities for brands that drive insights and brand advocacy.

Following more than a decade in corporate, global brand management, Ms. Freud is acutely aware that in this era of increasing consumer control over media, marketers need to be smarter about winning consumers’ attention and about integrating rapidly-evolving social networking tactics into the marketing mix.  She was inspired to create SheSpeaks in 2007, based on the principle that women would thrive in a dedicated online community where they could gather, connect with others and see the power of their voices in action.  Since then, SheSpeaks has worked with leading brands, including Pepsi, P&G, Garnier, Heinz, Food Network, Philips, AOL and more, to launch, evaluate and generate buzz about their products and services among target audiences.

Thomas Gensemer Thomas Gensemer, Managing Partner, Blue State Digital, provides day-to-day executive leadership, as well as executive sponsorship to several of the company's largest consulting engagements.  He joined BSD in 2005 with a background in venture capital, strategy consulting, product marketing and technology startup management.

Immediately prior to BSD, Thomas was the director of Internet strategy for America Coming Together (ACT), where he managed the organization's online fundraising, grassroots recruitment, and marketing. Prior to ACT, Thomas led online communications for General Wesley Clark's 2004 Presidential campaign, which built an unusually engaged supporter base that remained active after the race was over.

From 1999 to 2003, Thomas managed The Accelerator Group, an entrepreneurial venture capital fund with offices in New York, Los Angeles and London. The fund developed and funded a broad portfolio of early-stage technology and marketing businesses; its holdings included Pyra-Blogger (acquired by Google), Openwave (OPWV), 24/7 Media (TFSM), Meetup.com and a number of other concerns.  The community organizing, content development, and citizen engagement approaches that some of these companies pioneered continue to be relevant to the constituency development work our company does today.

John Gerzema John Gerzema is a best-selling author and pioneer of account planning in American advertising agencies, he has designed brand strategies for clients for almost twenty-five years, guiding campaigns to international strategic and creative acclaim.  His new book, The Brand Bubble: The Looming Crisis in Brand Value and How To Avoid It, was voted #3 Best Business Book for 2008 from Amazon’s editors and 'Best Advertising and Marketing Book for 2008' from CEO Read. And the book is currently on Business Week’s Best Seller List.

A sought after presenter around the world, Gerzema previously oversaw the international network for Fallon and founded offices in Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong and Sao Paolo.  He holds a master’s degree in integrated marketing from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and a B.S. in marketing from Ohio State University.

Marc Hadfield Marc Hadfield is the Co-founder and CTO of Alitora Systems and the inventor of its technology, including kHarmony™, and is an expert in information retrieval, knowledge modeling, and software architecture. He has designed and built data management systems for the finance and pharmaceutical industries, as well as for genomic research.

Recently he performed research at the Columbia Genome Center in information extraction from scientific texts as part of the GeneWays project. Previously he was CTO of LCconnect, an online marketplace for large financial transactions of Fortune 500 Companies and Top 10 global banks, which was financed by Le Crédit Lyonnais and Tobat Capital, LLC. He is a graduate of Princeton University with a degree in Computer Science Engineering.

Ran Harnevo Ran Harnevo is the Co-Founder and CEO of 5min, the leading syndication partner for lifestyle, knowledge, and instructional video content (raised $13M to date from Spark and Globespan Capital). Ran has vast experience both in management and in creating, managing and deploying content and media assets.

In his last job Ran was the site manager of a large scale UAV (Unmanned Air Vehicles) Surveillance Project in the American Oil Fields of Angola. This work is based on Ran’s experience in the Israeli Air Force. After several years in the army, Ran was a journalist and deputy editor of “Tel-Aviv” Magazine (for Yedioth Ahronot group) where he has also served as a political writer, the editor of the sport section, the news section and the Internet site. Ran studied Philosophy and Computer Science in Tel-Aviv University.

DeVon Harris DeVon Harris is the Founder and CEO of Astor Place Media, a multimedia and production company which specializes in innovative marketing campaigns and products connecting corporations with youth demographics. Astor Place's function is applying new technologies to differentiate entertainment properties and brands such as MTV, Dr. Pepper, Bacardi Rums, RockBox and more.

Also known as Devo Springsteen, DeVon is a Grammy Award winning producer and songwriter. Before launching Astor Place, DeVon worked for G.O.O.D. Music, Kanye West's boutique record label, as an artist & repertoire rep launching the career of multi-platinum recording artist John Legend. Under the Springsteen moniker, DeVon produced and co-wrote songs for Legend and such artists as Aretha Franklin, Britney Spears, Nas, Estelle, Common and more, and won the Best Rap Song Grammy in 2006 for his production of "Diamonds (from Sierra Leone)" for Kanye West. Previous to G.O.O.D., DeVon worked as an analyst at Venture Architects, a NY venture capital advisory firm, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

DeVon Is a graduate of The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and attends Columbia Business School.

DeVon Harris Ori Inbar, co-founded Ogmento, a developer and publisher of mobile augmented reality experiences, in 2009. He is also the author of Games Alfresco, the leading blog for augmented reality, and President of the Augmented Reality (AR) Consortium, an international group of pioneering AR companies.

Ori has established himself as a thought leader in the emerging industry, and is a recognized speaker and a sought after advisor for augmented reality initiatives.

Ogmento was co-founded in 2009 by Ori and his industry veterans partners committed to bringing Augmented Reality (AR) experiences to consumers. Ogmento is a developer and publisher of mobile and webcam-based AR games and entertainment products, made in collaboration with the best and brightest AR makers in the world. The company is headquartered in New York and has an office in Los Angeles.

Previously, as Senior Vice President of Solution Marketing for SAP’s platform, Ori was responsible for the positioning and marketing of SAP NetWeaver, which under his leadership has grown from a mere concept to a billion dollar business for SAP. Prior to SAP, Ori joined TopTier Software, among the first employees of this start-up. During his career, Ori has lead the development and introduction to the market of more than 25 multimedia and business applications including the world’s leading enterprise portal.

Ori has a double major in Computer Science and Cinema from Tel Aviv University, and is a graduate of INSEAD University leadership program.

Ryan Jacoby Ryan Jacoby helps lead IDEO’s New York location. He leads the firm’s Business Design discipline globally. Ryan is passionate about designing new experiences for users and growth businesses with his clients. While at IDEO he has led and worked on a broad array of projects in the areas of consumer experience, product design, retail strategy, and brand strategy in industries such as retail, financial services, food and beverage, sporting goods, electronic gaming, and consumer products.

Ryan is a frequent speaker and writer on the topics of growth and innovation. Recently he has co-authored two pieces on these topics: "Growth, and Getting to Where You Want to Go," in the Design Management Review and "Embracing Risk to Learn, Grow and Innovate" (Rotman Magazine). Jeff Jarvis Jeff Jarvis, author of What Would Google Do? (HarperCollins 2009), blogs about media and news at Buzzmachine.com. He is associate professor and director of the interactive journalism program at the City University of New York’s new Graduate School of Journalism. He is consulting editor and a partner at Daylife, a news startup. He writes a new media column for The Guardian and is host of its Media Talk USA podcast. He consults for media companies.

Until 2005, he was president and creative director of Advance.net, the online arm of Advance Publications. Prior to that, Jarvis was creator and founding editor of Entertainment Weekly; Sunday editor and associate publisher of the New York Daily News; TV critic for TV Guide and People; a columnist on the San Francisco Examiner; assistant city editor and reporter for the Chicago Tribune; reporter for Chicago Today.

Jeff Jarvis Tony Jebara is associate professor of computer science at Columbia University as well as chief scientist and co-founder at Sense Networks. His research intersects computer science and statistics to develop algorithms that learn from spatio-temporal data, networks, images and text. He has published over 75 scientific articles and is the author of the book Machine Learning: Discriminative and Generative (Springer). Jebara is the recipient of the Career award from the National Science Foundation and has also received awards for his papers from the International Conference on Machine Learning and from the Pattern Recognition Society. Jebara’s work has been featured on TV (ABC, BBC, New York One, TechTV) as well as in the popular press (New York Times, Slash Dot, Wired, Scientific American, BusinessWeek). He obtained his PhD in 2002 from MIT.

Rajeev Kohli Rajeev Kohli is a Professor of Marketing at Columbia University. He currently teaches courses on business in India, and on new product development, to MBA and Executive MBA students. He also teaches executive programs on innovation, creativity, and new product development in the United States, Asia, and Europe.

His research focuses on problems concerning the mathematical representation and inference of preference structures, models of consumer choice, and product develepment. He also works on problems in combinatorial optimization, and in the design and analysis of algorithms. Some of these probems occur in the inference of preference structures, others in product development, and still others in decisions concerning the allocation of marketing resources.

Rajeev has a doctoral degree in Applied Economics and Decision Sciences from the University of Pennsylvania, an MBA from Northern Illinois University, and a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from BITS, Pilani, India.

Miky Lee

Miky Lee (Mie Kyung Lee) is the Vice Chairman of CJ Entertainment & Media, the entertainment and media division of CJ Corp.  Ms. Lee, alongside her brother and the Chairman of CJ Corp Mr. Jay Lee, founded the entertainment and media division of CJ in 1994 after leading CJ to become one of the founding investors in DreamWorks SKG. Since then, CJ has built many influential companies in the Korea entertainment and media industry: CJ CGV, the first and largest multiplex chain in Korea.  CJ Media, a leading cable network operating nine cable channels with highest combined ratings.  And Mnet Media, Korea’s first and only “total music entertainment” company and leader in cable music television, music distribution and live concerts.

Prior to joining CJ, Ms. Lee served as Director of Samsung America, spearheading Samsung’s cultural and educational projects. She established the Parsons School of Design in Seoul for Samsung and oversaw the formation of a branch of Pasadena’s Arts Center College of Design for Samsung employees.

Ms. Lee’s leadership skills have been widely recognized. In 2006, she was awarded the World Business Award at the Women’s World Awards for leading the largest entertainment group in Korea and for her global vision. She was also chosen by Variety in its Women’s Impact Report 2006 as one of the leading executives in the film industry. In 2007, she was the recipient of the CEO of the Year Award by Korean Management Association in recognition of her role in making possible the thriving film industry in Korea today. 

Ms. Lee has always had a deep interest in education and cross-cultural affairs.  She earned her B.A. in 1981 at Seoul National University and then studied Chinese language and linguistics at Taiwan National University from 1981-1983. In 1984, she studied Japanese language at Japan’s Keio University.  Ms. Lee received her M.A. in Asian studies from Harvard University in 1986.  At Harvard, she served for three years as a teaching fellow in Korean language. She also studied Chinese literature and history at Fudan University in China.

Miky Lee is the first grandchild of B.C. Lee, the founder of CJ and the Samsung Group.

Yoon Lee Yoon C. Lee is currently the managing director/general manager of the Global Product Innovation Team (PIT) at Samsung Electronics' Global Marketing Operations. PIT is Samsung's global center of excellence in leading consumer insight based product and solution innovation for strategic Samsung products. PIT’s  operation is based on open innovation model for developing consumer insight driven product concepts. PIT is located in Silicon Valley, California.

Yoon has 18+ years of new product development experience in most all areas of new product development vertical from product strategy and ideation to hands on engineering and design development, development of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)  process, PLM operations and product data management. Yoon has worked on product development topics for various industries including, automotive, aerospace, consumer electronics, retail, industrial equipment and telecom services.

Prior to joining Samsung, Yoon was a product development consultant at PRTM’s Mountain View CA office and previous to that, a PLM consultant at Accenture’s San Francisco office. Yoon began his career in product development as an automotive robot design engineer at FANUC Robotics in Michigan, a leading industrial robot manufacturer. Yoon has over 15 professional publications in professional engineering and product development journals and has spoken at several global conferences as invited guest speaker. Yoon earned his PhD in manufacturing and product development from the University of California at Berkeley. Yoon currently resides in Oakland, California.

Jonathan Levav Jonathan Levav is the Class of 1967 Associate Professor of Business at Columbia Business School. His research interests center primarily on judgment and decision making, including preference prediction, probability judgment, affect, subjective well-being and context dependent preferences. Professor Levav teaches the core marketing course.

John Mayo-Smith John Mayo-Smith joined R/GA in 1998 and is a senior member of R/GA’s executive committee. As Chief Technology Officer, John oversees creative customer brand platform innovation and helps Marketing and IT executives quickly leverage creative brand opportunities triggered by emerging technologies. John manages approximately twenty-percent of R/GA’s staff and is responsible for enterprise-scale projects on five continents.

John specializes in strategic planning, technical marketing innovation, customer platform development, business development strategy, strategic integration of corporate Marketing and IT, lead user & brand influencer enablement, mass customization, and marketing technology adaptation.

Prior to R/GA, John co-created more than 40 award-winning software programs for Intel, Simon & Schuster, and Microsoft. He also held senior management positions at software companies, including a Viacom affiliate he helped bring public in 1994. In 1990, John worked with industry pioneers, including Roger Fidler and Alan Kay, on a precursor to today’s popular digital readers.

Anton Meyer

Anton Meyer is Chair of Marketing and head of the Marketing Department, Munich School of Management at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich. As a pioneer he has been scientifically involved for more than 25 years in customer orientation, market-based management, service marketing and brand management.

This is reflected by numerous publications, speeches and projects on these topics. Anton Meyer is the co-initiator and former academic director of the German Customer Satisfaction Index (one of the most comprehensive and largest benchmarking surveys on customer orientation referring to the German market). Since 1999 he is Executive Director of the University of Munch's Center on Global Brand Leadership.

Oded Netzer Oded Netzer is an Associate Professor of Marketing at Columbia Business School. His research interests focus on customer relationships, preference measurement, and modeling various aspects of choice behavior, including how choices change over time, contexts, and consumers. He is the winner of the John Little best paper awards and the Frank Bass outstanding dissertation award. Elena brings with her more than a decade's experience in emerging and converging media, starting with DoubleClick where she introduced hundreds of traditional and new media companies to the world of online ad tags, targeting and rich media.

Matthew Quint Matthew Quint is the Assistant Director of Columbia Business School's Center on Global Brand Leadership, where he researches and writes about branding and marketing issues.

Matthew works with the Center's sponsors and partners, and with the faculty and staff of Columbia Business School, to coordinate research and conference activities, including the Center's flagship BRITE Conference. He develops and implements the Center's overall communications strategy, and assists in academic research conducted by the Center. He is the author of the Center's Brand Talk newsletter and is responsible for maintaining and editing all of the Center's websites.

Previously, he worked as a strategic adviser on nuclear science policy issues for the Embassy of Australia, and was the first program coordinator of the Vale Columbia Center on Sustainable International Investment. Seth A. Schachner Seth Andrew Schachner is currently Vice President, Digital Business–Latin Region for Sony Music Entertainment Inc, where he is based in the company’s Miami offices.

Now in his eleventh year with Sony Music, his primary responsibilities involve driving new digital and mobile business in Latin America and the US Latin market in one of the company’s fastest growing digital markets.

At Sony, Schachner closed a record-breaking mobile deal with the artist Ricky Martin and Sony Ericsson.  Featuring a “pre-loaded” handset, the deal generated sales of 1.5MM handsets in Latin America as well as a major tour endorsement for the artist. Schachner recently followed this up with a just-released Shakira Sony Ericsson handset in Latin America. Schachner joined Sony Music in 1999 as Zomba/Jive Record's Vice President of New Media Strategy & Development, where he led the company’s first digital initiatives, including digital content deals with many of the US’s first digital music services.

Previous to Sony Music, Schachner served as Vice President, Business Development for NY-based Liberty Digital, a cable television holding company. Earlier, Schachner served as a Director of Business Development at Viacom Interactive. From 1995 to 1996, Schachner was America Online's first business development executive for music, where he negotiated many of AOL's first content deals with record companies, cable networks, and prominent music publications.

Mr. Schachner holds an MBA and BA from Columbia University in New York. He has also completed courses at Bryn Mawr's Centro de Estudios Hispanicos in Madrid, Spain. Schachner currently serves on the global board of the London-based Mobile Entertainment Forum. In August 2009, after contributing to Governor Crist’s Music Task Force, Schachner was appointed to a seat on Florida’s Film & Entertainment Advisory Council by the President of Florida’s Senate.

Vivian Schiller Vivian Schiller is a media executive and journalist with more than 20 years experience in the industry and joined NPR as President and CEO on January 5, 2009. She comes to NPR from The New York Times Company where she served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of NYTimes.com.

As President and CEO, Schiller oversees all NPR operations and initiatives, including the organization's critical partnerships with our 800+ member stations, and their service to the more than 26 million people who listen to NPR programming every week.

Previously, Schiller served as Senior Vice President of CNN Productions, where she led CNN's long-form programming efforts. Documentaries and series produced under her auspices earned multiple honors, including two Peabody Awards, two Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia University Awards, and five Emmys. Schiller began her career as a simultaneous Russian interpreter in the former Soviet Union, which led her to documentary production work for Turner Broadcasting.

Bernd Schmitt Bernd H. Schmitt is the Robert D. Calkins Professor of International Business at Columbia Business School in New York and faculty director of the Center on Global Brand Leadership, the leading global forum on branding issues for researchers and executives.

He is widely recognized for his major contributions to branding, marketing, and management through his unique focus on creativity, innovation and the customer experience. Schmitt has authored or co-authored seven books which have been translated into 20 languages, including Experiential Marketing (1999), Customer Experience Management (2003), and Big Think Strategy (2007).

He teaches the course Managing Brands, Identity and Experiences, and won an award for innovation in the classroom for the course Corporate Creativity. Ava Seave Ava Seave is a Principal of Quantum Media, a leading New York City based consulting firm focused on marketing and strategic planning for media and entertainment companies. As a Quantum Media principal, she has led numerous consulting engagements and has provided senior-level management consulting services to many companies in a broad range of assignments. Ava is also an adjunct associate professor at Columbia Business School.

Before founding Quantum Media with four others in 1998, she was a general manager at three leading media companies: Scholastic Inc., where she directed the Trumpet Club and Scholastic Specials business units, at The Village Voice where she was responsible for all non-advertising revenue and administrative management including circulation, shipping and distribution, list sales, print and on-line syndication and consumer advertising and public relations and at TVSM, the country's largest cable listings magazine.

Ava started her career at Dell Publishing (a division of Doubleday) and as an editor at two horticulture magazines. Professor Seave's teaching experience beyond CBS includes stints at the New York University School of Professional and Continuing Education in the Masters of Publishing and E-management programs. She has been a lecturer at numerous Folio Conferences, FMA conferences and for the Magazine Publishers' Association Executive Education programs.

Professor Seave is on the Board of Davler Media. She is also on the non-profit boards of the Pembroke Center at Brown University and the Archaeology Institute of America, serving as head of the Archaeology Magazine committee.

Don Sexton Don Sexton is Professor of Marketing at Columbia Business School.  He received his Ph.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, has been teaching for more than forty years at Columbia in the areas of marketing, international business, and statistics, and is a recipient of the Business School's Distinguished Teaching Award.  Don is a visiting professor at the China Europe International Business School and at the Australian School of Business, UNSW, and has also taught at the University of California-Berkeley, INSEAD, the Moscow School of Management, the Indian School of Business, the U.S. Business School in Prague, and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Dwayne Spradlin Dwayne Spradlin is President and Chief Executive Officer of InnoCentive, Inc. Previously, he served as President at Hoover's Inc. and before that he was President and Chief Operating Officer of Starcite, Inc., an online meeting and events planning business.

Spradlin served as Senior Vice President of Corporate and Business Development for Verticalnet Inc., the world's largest portfolio of online industry marketplaces. Earlier, Spradlin was a Director in the E-Business and Emerging Technology practice at PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Reid Sullivan Reid Sullivan is Senior Vice President of Mobile Entertaiment for Samsung Electronics, a position he was named to in January 2010. As SVP of Mobile Entertainment (DSC, Camcorder, Photo Frames, e-Reader, Mobile Internet Devices) his goal is to create new growth engines in these expanding catagories. He joined Samsung a little over 3 years ago and quickly grew its home audio and DVD/Blue-ray categories from industry ranks of no. 7 and no. 3 respectively, to dominant no. 1 positions in both categories (units sold and revenue).

Prior to Samsung, Reid worked for Panasonic for 14 years, rising to the position of vice president of its entertainment division. He also did extensive work for Strawbridge & Clothier, a Philadelphia-based retailer, for 10 years. He graduated from Moravian College with a B.S. in Marketing, and has been married for 27 years to his wife, Donna. They have two wonderful girls, Kerri and Kristin.

Chris Tolles Chris Tolles came to Topix from Spoke Software, a business social networking company, where he was a co-founder and VP of marketing. Before Spoke, Chris was a Director of Marketing at AOL/Netscape for AOL Music, Netscape Search and Directory Products.

Chris was a co-founder and VP of Marketing at NewHoo, and led the sale of the company to Netscape. After the acquisition, NewHoo was relaunched as the Open Directory Project at Netscape and became the world's largest human edited directory of the web, and is still used by companies like Google, Alexa and AOL.

Previous to NewHoo, Chris held a variety of sales, marketing and management positions at Sun Microsystems. Chris graduated from the University of California at San Diego with degrees in Computer Science and Economics, where he was awarded the Michael J. Addison award for his senior thesis about the online information industry.

Dunacn Watts Duncan Watts is a principal research scientist at Yahoo! Research, where he directs the Human Social Dynamics group. He is also an adjunct senior research fellow at Columbia University, and an external faculty member of the Santa Fe Institute and Nuffield College, Oxford.
